David joined DWF Advocacy in 2017, having previously worked as an in-house barrister with a firm of solicitors specialising in insurance litigation. David also worked as a legal advisor for an insurance helpline.
He is experienced in advising and acting on matters across a wide range of personal injury fields. He has particular experience in road traffic accident claims and accidents at work giving rise to Employers' and Occupiers' Liability claims. He has expertise in the fields of credit hire and Portal litigation, with notable success in striking out large claims for procedural errors. He is also knowledgeable on issues of fundamental dishonesty, QOCS and s57 Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015.
David's personal injury practice links with his growing experience in inquests, where he has been instructed to represent interested parties following deaths at work and on the road.
David is a specialist in civil procedure which enables him to deal confidently with all manner of interlocutory hearings. David has particular experience in costs litigation, being instructed to attend Costs and Case Management Conferences in claims worth up to £5million. David's costs experience means he is instructed to attend oral hearings following provisional assessment of costs, and detailed assessments.
In his Professional Indemnity practice, David acts on claims against a wide range of professionals, most particularly accountants and legal professionals.
David is regularly instructed in trials, applications, CMCs and CCMCs, and assessment hearings. He drafts statements of case, Part 35 and Part 18 questions, and provides advices on liability and quantum. He is also available to provide training on request.
