Mark Hickey is DWF's Chairman (Asia Pacific), providing leadership and governance in the region. He is integral to DWF's growth, leading expansion across multiple offices throughout Australia and Asia. Mark is also the Head of Corporate in Australia. These positions follow his many leadership roles within his previous firm, including being a member of the firm's Board for nine years and its former Chairman.
With over 25 years’ experience specialising in advising on corporate transactions, capital raising and major real estate projects in Australia and internationally, Mark is included in the Best Lawyers Australia list for Corporate/Governance Practice, 2019 and 2020. He is also included in the Best Lawyers Australia list for Real Property Law, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Mark provides his corporate clients with advisory services involving transactional mergers, acquisitions and disposals in the technology, transport, financial services, government, hospitality, mining and engineering sectors. He advises on capital raisings and IPO listings on both the ASX and AIM UK exchanges. He works on corporate reconstructions for mid-market clients and distressed companies. Mark has a particular interest in restructuring businesses for mergers and private equity investment and advising company Boards on legal strategies for mergers, equity raisings and restructures. Mark’s real estate practice includes advising on syndicated property developments and property related IPOs, as well as large institutional, private and public joint ventures relating to infrastructure.
In 2016, Mark was bestowed a Bravery Medal by the Governor of New South Wales, His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret'd).
