          Kate specialises in international commercial arbitration, investment treaty arbitration and public international law.

          Kate regularly advises States, State entities and multinational companies on a broad spectrum of disputes. She is qualified to practise in Singapore and England & Wales and speaks English, Mandarin, Bahasa Indonesia and Japanese.

          Kate’s recent experience includes advising an Asian State and its entity in two UNCITRAL ad hoc arbitrations on issues involving the termination of a concession agreement valued at over US$1billion; advising an African State in three investment treaty arbitrations under ICSID rules; advising an Indonesian/Indian joint venture company against an American contractor in an ICC - arbitration in relation to a coal mining project in Indonesia; and advising a global construction conglomerate headquartered in France in three construction arbitrations seated in Singapore.

          She recently successfully acted for an Indian conglomerate against an Austrian company in an ICC arbitration involving an aborted wind energy project in India, and a Malaysian company in challenging the jurisdiction of the arbitral tribunal in an ICC arbitration involving Qatari law.
