Kate is a Director at DWF specialising in catastrophic injury and large claims.
She works closely with DWF's insurance and healthcare teams providing expertise across catastrophic injury and large claims, motor claims, employers and public liability and counter fraud.
Kate joined DWF to develop a team specialising in catastrophic and large loss claims in the Birmingham office. She has a keen interest in the healthcare fraud market and is working closely with the Counter Fraud and Healthcare teams to develop a niche product for the UK market.
Prior to joining DWF I worked at a significant multi-national firm, where I specialised in defending large loss and catastrophic injury claims for most of the UK's largest general insurers. For a number of years I was that firm's national Head of the Motor Prosecution Unit, representing clients in the civil, criminal and coroner's courts, defending the most serious motoring offences and dealing with the resulting civil claims.
Kate has spoken at a number of industry conferences and events on various related topics including issues around data protection, private and cyber security. Kate is a governor at the Birmingham Women's Hospital and chairs its Standing Appointments Committee. She is also a Non-Executive Director for People United Against Crime, a business crime reduction charity, based in Yorkshire.
Outside of work Kate is a keen Manchester City Football Club supporter (encouraged by her three young sons). She enjoys travelling, reading and spending time with her family.
