A calm person to know in a crisis, Jon is an experienced commercial and public law litigator.
Jon has worked at all levels in the public and private sectors dealing with contract disputes, shareholder disputes, procurement challenges, judicial review and public law challenges, professional negligence and director disqualification.
He has considerable expertise and experience of disputes involving company law and insolvency issues (breach of fiduciary duties and restrictive covenants, warranty claims and shareholder disputes), contractual disputes and professional negligence claims and he specialises in procurement and public law challenges.
Recently, Leeds City Council hired Jon to defend proceedings brought against them for the termination of the developer competition in respect of Leeds Arena. The claimant alleged breaches of the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 and the tort of deceit, valuing its claim in excess of Ł40 million. The case culminated in the Council defeating the claims in their entirety: Montpellier Estates Limited v Leeds City Council (2013)
Having an eye for detail, Jon has been appointed the Honorary Treasurer of Manchester Law Society. In his spare time, he coaches his son's football team, enjoys watching and playing football, and endures the occasional game of golf.
