As CEO of DWF Group Plc, Andrew Leaitherland is responsible for implementing the strategic direction of DWF. His work is focused on managing and running the business and implementing the strategy agreed by DWF's partners and leadership. This means enhancing the client service across all functions, developing and implementing our strategic vision as well as the ideas that our people have.
Described by market commentators as “visionary” and with "boundless energy", Andrew has previously been named ‘Management Partner of the Year’ and ‘Legal Innovator of the Year’ (Legal Business Awards) and is known for his ambitious and entrepreneurial approach. Appointed in December 2017 for his fifth consecutive uncontested term as Managing Partner, he has overseen the significant growth of DWF over the last twelve years, increasing revenues by 456% to over £200m and increasing headcount to 2,800 people based in 27 locations.
Under Andrew's leadership, DWF has been ranked one of the top 10 most innovative legal businesses in Europe following numerous successes in applying new technology and ways of working to deliver improvements in operational efficiency, people engagement, client service and legal expertise. The past three years in particular have been instrumental in DWF's journey, with significant developments for the business in terms of its expanding geographical footprint and expanding its legal and Connected Service client base globally. Since launching its Dubai office in 2015, the business's first office outside of the UK&I, DWF has established a strong global network with fifteen offices across Europe, North America, Singapore, Australia and the Middle East.
Andrew sits on the Strategic Board and is part of the process which recommends the strategic direction to the partners at DWF. He also sits on the Remuneration and Nomination Committee to ensure that people remain critical to the success of the business and Chairs the Executive Board. He also Chairs the Corporate Responsibility Leadership Group to ensure that DWF's values and culture are brought to life within the business, allowing the business to have a broader impact on clients, people, community and environment.
DWF has directed substantial resource at developing infrastructure, processes and systems, as well as making significant investments in technology designed to improve operational efficiency and communication. Andrew is passionate about service excellence, which was demonstrated when DWF became the first law firm in the UK to commit to the Net Promoter Score system for both its clients and people, and is a strong advocate of doing things differently and focusing on service excellence by delivery through the right service platform aligned with clients' needs.
Andrew never wanted to be a lawyer! He always wanted to do something which would help him get the best out of people whilst making a broader contribution. He thinks he has got his perfect job!
