            The Rubie Awards 2019

In 2019 we launched The Rubies, an annual award ceremony that recognises DWF people across the globe who have made a significant contribution during the last year.

            Rubies

The Rubie Awards enable our people to identify amongst their colleagues, those who have not only inspired but who have gone above and beyond, as we collectively work toward our purpose of transforming legal services.

"I am really pleased to announce the launch of The Rubies, our first global DWF event to recognise the significant contributions that have been made to the business during the last year.

"It's been an exciting year for our business and we've been making great progress. It is more important now than ever that we take time to pause and reflect on our achievements, recognising our people at every level who are contributing to the ongoing success of DWF. – Andrew Leaitherland, CEO

Developed by a steering group of people from across our business, the award categories ensure that everyone across the business, whether they are at the start of their career or are a longstanding team member, has the opportunity to be recognised. Our values sit at the heart of each award and nominations are made on a global scale.

            Helen Hill, HR Director

"At DWF we are committed to providing our people with an opportunity to shine and I'm sure that the Rubies will become a highlight of our recognition calendar year on year. What I really like about the concept is that the award categories are wide ranging, which means that no matter what your role is at DWF or your location, you could be nominated."

Hear from some of our 2019 winners

"I think sometimes when you are a more junior member of staff in such a large company, it's difficult to feel like you are making a difference or see how your work has impact beyond your immediate team – I don't feel like that anymore! Having your work recognised and celebrated on a global scale is pretty inspiring." Gabriella Crow, winner of the Rising Star of the Year award.
"One of the things I like so much about DWF is that it recognises and places importance on individuals' wider contributions, such as CSR and pro bono work, in addition to financial performance." Naomi Pryde, winner of the Newcomer of the Year award
"I was surprised when I saw my name on the shortlist, so to be announced as a winner on the night was incredible." Daniel Martin, winner of Emerging Talent of the Year award
"I am delighted, honoured and proud to have won this award. I am overwhelmed that my firm and the people believed I was the winning candidate." Jewels Chamberlain, winner of the Community Impact award
"It feels so lovely to win. Honestly, it does. I think it's because people have taken the time to write a nomination, time out of what are very busy days at DWF, to recognise something or some way that we have worked together and I'm just so grateful to them. It's really made my year!" Lottie Rielly, winner of Employee of the Year – Business Services award
