Speakers from our Real Estate Team will discuss the changes being considered by the Scottish Law Commission to the law relating to notices to quit and tacit relocation. We will highlight the difficulties with the current rules and the commercial risk for both tenants and landlords. The proposals will, if implemented, have a significant impact on current and future landlord and tenant relationships. We will also cover new LBTT rules and the obligations for "live returns" including returns every 3 years – the obligations create a significant management burden on tenants.

Speakers from our Commercial Litigation Team will then discuss the area of business interruption and how the law provides remedies to clients that require to balance on going disputes with the daily running of their business. An update on recent case law will follow. This will cover decisions affecting several aspects of the real estate sector and beyond.

There will then be an opportunity for questions to be submitted to our speakers and for open discussion.

The evening will finish with beers, burgers and a chance to engage in networking.

We look forward to welcoming you
